Hidden away on a quiet country road in the Texas Hill Country in Roosevelt, Texas lies a wonderful down to earth place known as the Back Door Cafe.
We don't have tablecloths and we don't take reservations, but we do have some of the best food in Kimble County. Just ask the locals and the passer-by's traveling out west. The cafe is located behind SIMON Brothers Mercantile which is a step back in time itself and a must see! The Back Door has become "the place" to eat lunch during the week and dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. People come as far as Boerne, Menard, Junction, Mason, Harper, Sonora, Fredericksburg and even Rocksprings just to eat with us.
During the week for lunch, we have delicious lunch specials, as well as items off our menu and on Friday and Saturday nights, Gail Simon cooks up her famous cheeseburgers and mouth watering steaks.
We offer set-ups and you can BYOB. Big screen TV's always have hunting, bull riding or your favorite sporting event on. We open for lunch at 11am during the week and dinner at 6pm only on Friday and Saturday nights. So get here early, pull up a chair and get ready to have a great time while you eat a great meal.
